Spiritual Lecture Series

The essays in this spiritual lecture series offer simple spiritual solutions to our most important personal issues.

A Valentine's Card

The first of my spiritual lecture series was written for Valentine's Day, a day devoted to love. With that in mind, this essay is devoted to expanding our capacity to love ourselves and others.

Anger May Not Be What You Think It Is

Anger may seem like an odd subject to include in a spiritual lecture, but even though you can identify it easily in today’s world, anger may not be what you think it is. All you have to do is spend a minute with the headlines and you come in contact with many forms of anger. For many of us, it is felt much closer than the anger the headlines report: We feel anger towards others and the anger of others directed at us. In this lecture, you will learn how to free yourself from the cycle of miserable enslavement to anger.

Lecture Series - Beyond New Years Resolutions

We need to go beyond resolutions because most New Year's resolutions never succeed. (Have you noticed?) It's too bad they don't succeed because every resolution is made with the best of intentions: to either rid oneself of an unwanted negative or to gain a wanted positive. The reason most resolutions don't succeed is that the effort for change is placed on the level of effect, where change is temporary at best. This is a spiritual lecture; that is, an opportunity to make real change occur because it shows how to make changes at the level of cause, not effect.

How To Be Included In The Grace of God

Are you included in the Grace of God? When we are immersed in the Grace of God, life is easy: Miracles happen regularly, the right people show up at the right times, and good things come to you with little or no effort on your part. Struggle is non-existent. Learn how to be included with an exercise to get you started.

Birth and Rebirth

The message of every Christed Master throughout history (and almost every religion has had their own Christed Master) has been one of birth and rebirth. Each Christed Master shares a similar story--virgin birth, death, and resurrection-- with their resurrection giving birth to a higher form of themselves, one of a Unity Consciousness. Learn their simple message so that you can begin to walk their path.

Personal Transformation - How To Change Your Past, Present, and Future

Part of my lecture series that teaches you how to change your past, present, and future.

Lessons From My Grandmother

My Grandmother is an important teacher in my life, important enough to devote a part of my lecture series to her wisdom. Here is one important lesson she taught me on her 98th birthday.

On Gratitude

During the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, I have had a number of conversations and received a number of emails and e-zines all focusing on the same topic - gratitude. After spending so much time focused on gratitude for the past month, I am not so sure of its spiritual importance.

Solving Your Problems

Although all problems appear unique, the challenge inherent in each is universal: how do we transcend life’s problems and the fear and loss that are the companions of problems? This essay includes an exercise that utilizes two universal spiritual truths.

The Lesson of Easter

The tenth in my lecture series, this essay shows how Christians and non-Christians alike can benefit from the universal spiritual truths that Easter brings.

Your Personal Resurrection

Although we do not literally nail ourselves to a cross, most of us crucify ourselves daily: we criticize ourselves, we talk ourselves down, we berate ourselves for our mistakes, and for our shortcomings we give ourselves the gifts of thorns and nails. This season offers us the chance to give ourselves the gift of lilies instead, thereby experiencing the opposite of a personal crucifixion -- a personal resurrection. No matter what your religious beliefs, no matter what date your religious calendar suggests is the "right" day, make today your Easter, your day of personal resurrection. Here's how...

Archetypal Work

This archetypal work is based on Caroline Myss's book, "Sacred Contracts."

In this self-help/self-healing book, Ms. Myss uses her own theory of archetypes to build on the work of Carl Jung, who is "generally credited in the modern world as having introduced archetypes, although the idea had originally been espoused by Plato." Using her book for guidance, I found the work to be fascinating, enlightening, and helpful.

I shared my breakthroughs with people and they found them so helpful to their own work that I decided to post them on my website so others might benefit also.

In this book, Ms. Myss introduces the archetypes and then has the reader choose the archetypes that resonate most strongly for them (although she chooses the first four as she believes these four are universally embodied.) She then guides the reader through exercises that guide you to a greater self understanding.

The exercise that I share here are the "Interviews with the Archetypes." Every interview begins by naming the archetype, explaining its primary importance in our lives, and a very general description of the archetype. Every interview consists of the same questions, although I added some in a few of the interviews.

I hope you enjoy.
